Tossevo 6 Mg / Ml Syrup Efg Levodropropizine, 200 ml

Tossevo 6 mg/ml syrup is a medicine containing the active substance levodropropizine, which belongs to the group of medicines called antitussives and is used to treat irritable or nervous coughs in adults and children over two years of age.

Tossevo s yrup is a medicine indicated to relieve non-productive cough in adults, adolescents and children over 2 years of age.

• The dose of Tossevo in adults is 10 ml every 6-8 hours, maximum three times a day.
• In children aged 2-6 years, the dosage should be established by the doctor.
• In adolescents and children over 6 years of age, the dose is calculated according to the patient's weight, administering 1 mg per kg in each dose every 6-8 hours, without exceeding 3 doses per day. The dosage schedule would therefore be as follows: - Children 10-15 kg: 2.5 ml 3 times a day. Children weighing 16-20 kg: 3 ml 3 times a day - Children weighing 21-30 kg: 5 ml 3 times a day / - Adolescents weighing 31-45 kg: 7.5 ml 3 times a day - Adolescents weighing over 45 kg: 10 ml 3 times a day. It is not advisable to use the medicine for more than 7 days. Do not store above 25 ºC. Discard 6 weeks after opening.

This medicinal product is not recommended for use during pregnancy, or in women of childbearing age who are not using contraception. Levodropropizine is excreted in breast milk and for this reason it is not recommended for use during breast-feeding.

Like all medicines, Tossevo for cough can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects include gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, heartburn, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain, fatigue or asthenia, drowsiness, headache and dizziness or palpitations. Other less frequent adverse effects are skin allergies, dyspnoea, visual disturbances or precordial pain.

• This syrup contains sucrose; therefore, if you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
• Patients with diabetes mellitus should be aware that this medicinal product contains 1.84 g of glucose per 10 ml of syrup (to be measured with the measuring cup provided in the pack).
• May cause tooth decay.
• May cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) because it contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-216).
• The use of this medicine should be evaluated if you have liver and kidney failure.
