Calthek Forte is a medicine that can be taken by adults and children from 15 years of age.
1 tablet of Calthek Forte can be taken every 8 hours (3 times a day), and may be taken every 6 hours if necessary, but never more than 3 g (3 tablets) of paracetamol a day.
Do not take Calthek Forte if: You are taking anticoagulants, anti-epileptic drugs, anti-tuberculosis drugs, to treat cholesterol, diuretics, anti-gout medicines, anti-emetics, anti-hypertensives and anti-arrhythmics. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Like all medicines, Calthek may cause side effects: platelet disorders, allergic reactions, depression, confusion, abnormal vision, abdominal pain, oedema, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver and skin disturbances, urine turnia, kidney disorders, low blood sugar levels, blood disturbances...
Take special care when taking Calthek if: you are taking any other medicine containing paracetamol. If you have liver or kidney disease, asthma, haemolytic anaemia or sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid. You suffer from dehydration or malnutrition. You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
